Denise Carcangiu

Architectural Assistant

Denise recently graduated as Part I architectural assistant from the University of Westminster.

Her architectural interests involve sustainable design, building techniques and vernacular architecture. She is fascinated by the importance of the architect’s social responsibilities.

For her final year dissertation topic she researched more in depth how Hassan Fathy’s architecture inspired a new generation of architects worldwide through an integration of vernacular technology with modern architectural principles. This research influenced her final year project for which she designed shelters for homeless using recycled materials.

Before joining the practice she spent a year travelling and volunteering for an animal charity.

She enjoys painting, reading and cooking and she is fluent in English, Italian and Spanish.
